1, the product introduction

W106 is an industrial low-power WIFI communication module, which is mainly used for downloading and monitoring functions of PLC for wireless connection. It is plug and play. The computer does not need to connect any wired devices, only the computer is connected to the hotspot of the module. Under, open and configure the amxCOMTCP software. The PC software is very small and basically does not occupy system memory.

3, the function description

3.1, indicator light description

Working status indicator

1. The working status indicator is red, and the indicator is always on for the configuration mode.

2. The working status indicator is quickly looking for the network mode, waiting for the connection information of the WIFI cable.

3. The working status indicator flashes once in 1 second, indicating that it has successfully connected to the Amoxun cloud server.

4. The working status indicator flashes 2 times in 1 second, indicating that the wireless router has been successfully connected and cannot connect to the AMX cloud server.

5. The working status indicator flashes 3 times in 1 second, indicating that it cannot connect to the wireless router.

6. The red indicator flashes 4 times. When it is lit for 1 second, the module enters the reset mode.

Communication indicator description

1. The communication indicator is divided into two. The transmission indicator is blue and the reception indicator is yellow.

2, the module sends data TXD indicator flashes, the module receives data RXD indicator.

3.2, restore factory settings

Reset operation method

Entry mode: Press and hold the side button for 5 seconds, and the status indicator will flash 4 times for 1 second (the indicator is consistent). Enter the reset mode and restart after power-off.

The role of reset

Factory reset, module status baud rate 9600, data bit 8 bits, stop bit 1 bit, even parity bit. Restoring factory settings does not affect the device's numbering information.

3.3, hotspot name of WIFI cable

The live WIFI cable works in hotspot mode, and its hotspot name is AMX three uppercase English characters plus 8 digits of Arabic numerals, such as AXM00000016.

3.4, hot password for WIFI cable

Field-based WIFI cables work in hotspot mode and use WAPS-PA2 encryption; therefore, you need to enter a password to establish a connection.
The hotspot password is composed of 8-digit Arabic numerals of the hotspot name. For example, the device of AXM00000016 password is 00000016.

3.5, manual distribution network

The configuration mode is mainly used to manually configure the name and password information of the wireless router to which the WIFI cable needs to be connected.

Enter manual distribution mode

Press and hold the function button for 3 seconds, the indicator light is always on to enter the configuration default.

Open the WIFI connection property of the computer, select the number of the WIFI cable, and enter the password. As shown below:

After the computer is connected to the WIFI cable, open the host computer software, start the configuration server, then enter the hotspot name, click "OK", then enter the hotspot password, click OK. As shown below:


3.6, enter the working mode

In the reconfiguration mode, press the function button shortly, and the working status indicator changes from constant light to fast or 1 second flash, indicating successful entry into the working mode.


3.7, one button distribution network

This WIFI wireless cable supports one-click distribution network through mobile phones, and Android mobile phones can realize one-click distribution network by installing APKs provided by AMX;

The Apple mobile phone can implement a one-click distribution network by downloading a third-party application on the APPStore (the third-party APP name is: Esptouch).

4, connect PLC use example

4.1, required materials

W106 series module

AMX serial port to TCP tool software (amxCOMTCP)

One computer with Mitsubishi PLC programming software


4.3, PC installation

(1) Open the installation file

Unzip the installation package and find the installation file for setup.exe, as shown below:


Note: Please close the relevant anti-virus software before installation. (2) Start the installation At the time of installation, only under the license agreement, as shown in the figure below, you need to select “I accept the license agreement” and then select the next step; other pages just need to select “Next”.
(3) Find the app In the first way, you can find the icon in the figure below on the desktop.




The second way is to find it in the computer's start menu, as shown below.

4.4, one button distribution network

4.4.1, Android phone one-click distribution network

Step 1: Power on the WIFI cable

At this time, the working indicator of the WIFI cable flashes quickly.

Step 2: Open the APP with one-click distribution network and enter the password information as shown below; before clicking the “Confirm” button, please ensure that the mobile phone has successfully connected to the corresponding wireless channel.

By the device. After the configuration is successful, the work indicator changes to slow blinking.

4.5.1, Apple mobile phone one-click distribution network

Step 1: Power on the WIFI cable

At this time, the working indicator of the WIFI cable flashes quickly.

Step 2: Open the APP with one-click distribution network and enter the password information as shown below. Before clicking the “Confirm” button, please ensure that the mobile phone has successfully connected to the corresponding wireless router. After the configuration is successful, the work indicator changes to slow blinking.


4.5, manual distribution network

Step 1: Power on the WIFI cable

The WIFI cable is plugged into the programming interface of the corresponding PLC, and different PLCs correspond to different WIFI cable types.

The red indicator on the WIFI cable is always on, indicating that the module is working.


Step 2: Find the number and password of the WIFI cable

The module number is found on the back of the module or on the product box. All AMX factory WIFI cables are numbered with AMX three uppercase English characters plus 8 digits of Arabic numerals, such as AXM00000004. The WIFI password of all AMX products is the last 8 digits of the module number. If the WIFI cable is AXM00000004, the password is 00000004.

Step 3: Connect the WIFI cable

Open the WIFI connection interface of the computer, as shown in the figure below, find the hotspot name numbered AXM20190623, then double-click it, and enter the password in the pop-up dialog box.


Step 4: Enter the hotspot name and password information as shown below:

Step 5: Lose the manual distribution mode

Short press the function button for about 0.5 seconds to release, and the work indicator flashes to indicate successful exit.


4.5. Configure the host computer

Before starting the local service, please make sure that the computer has successfully connected to the hotspot of the WIFI cable.

Step 1: Start the PC software

Find the remote service, select "Start Remote Server", after the startup is successful, as shown below:


 

Step 2: Start the local server, select the PLC type and create a serial port.


Step 3: View the created virtual serial port as shown below:

 

4.6, Start programming software instructions:

This example uses Mitsubishi's GX-WORKS2 as an illustration.

Step 1: Select the serial port virtualized by the host computer

In this case, it is COM2 with a baud rate of 9600, as shown in the following figure:

 

Step 2: Verify communication is normal. First click the communication test in (1). After the connection is successful, a dialog box will pop up. Click on the confirmation in (2) in the dialog box; then click on the confirmation in (3).

4.8. Query the communication parameters of the WIFI cable

First, assume that the parameters of the WIFI cable are 9600, 8, None, 1; COM2, 9600, 7, Even, 1 with the virtual serial port;

Then, click on "Query Serial Port Parameters" of "Remote Serial Port".



4.9. Common problems and solutions:

Problem 1: Unable to start remote server

 Treatment method:

1, check the computer is able to go online.

2. After consulting AMX for sale, confirm that the module is a valid module registered in the Amox cloud service system.

Problem 2: Unable to create virtual serial port

Treatment method:

First, look at the WINDOS version of the computer, the desktop of the computer, find the computer or my computer, right click on the properties, and the pop-up is as shown below:

 

Then enter the installation path of the host computer, generally do not change the installation path, the relevant path information is as follows:

The 32-bit system path is: C:\Program Files\AMSAMOTION\uaCOMTCP;

The 64-bit system path is: C:\Program Files 86\AMSAMOTION\uaCOMTCP;

After entering the installation path of the host computer, as shown below:

 

Among them, WINDOS XP 32-bit selects "NT5" folder, WINDOS XP 64-bit selects "NT5x64" folder; if WINDOS 7 or above 32-bit selects "NT6" folder, WINDOS 7 or above 64-bit selects "NT6x64" file folder.


After opening the corresponding folder, as shown below, select vsbsetup to double-click and execute, and wait a few seconds to solve.



Question 3: Cannot find the corresponding PLC model

Since there are many PLC models and not all of them listed, you can select the custom mode at this time. Treatment method:

Select Set Serial Port, set baud rate, data length, check digit and stop bit in the pop-up dialog box, then click “OK”; then click “Create Serial Port”. As shown below.  

Question 4: Programming software and PLC communication are not a problem

solution

(1) Confirm that the computer is connected to the WIFI cable and successfully start the “Start Local Server” on the host computer.

(2) Check the communication parameters of the created virtual serial port, baud rate, data bit, check digit and stop bit are correct.

(3) Check whether the communication parameters of the WIFI cable are correct, as described in Operation Mode 4.8.
